I'm Miss Diti Deka, a young woman entrepreneur from Assam, originally from Morigaon, and the founder of Chaipaat.
But before Chaipaat became a brand, it was simply a thought that came to me over a cup of tea.
During the final phase of my MBA, I went to Delhi for my internship. After long and hectic days at work, I would often sit in a café, relax with a cup of tea and a few biscuits—and surprisingly, I would end up paying more than ₹200-300/- for it.
One day, I stopped and thought—
“I come from Assam, a land known across the world for its tea. If people are ready to pay ₹200-300/- or more for one small cup of Assam tea, why can’t I bring them the authentic taste and quality of Assam directly from my own land?”
And that thought became the beginning of my journey.
I started researching Assam tea—its gardens, its varieties, its quality, and most importantly, what people actually wanted in their cup.
I wanted to create something simple: good-quality, authentic Assam tea that people could trust, enjoy and afford.
And after many ups and downs, Chaipaat was born.
The journey was not easy. But what kept me going was the love of our customers. Today, a large part of our customers are returning customers, and for me, that is one of the biggest achievements a brand can have.
With time, I realised that people don’t just want tea for its taste. They also want tea that fits their lifestyle and their needs.
So we started working on customised tea options—from authentic Assam tea to wellness-focused blends.
Our vision is simple:
To take the taste, purity and identity of Assam tea from our gardens to every Indian home—and eventually, to the world.
And today, standing here as a young woman from Assam, I feel proud that a small girl's thought from a café has turned into a journey that is taking Assam tea beyond boundaries.
